The 3 best restaurants of market cusine in la Boqueria de Barcelona
Posted onThursday June 21st, 2018
Barcelona is a city that has been promoting the purchase of the market for several years now.
The Mercat de La Boqueria has been selected several times as the best market in the world by surveys and magazines and it is not necessary to see why.
It is located on the famous and picturesque promenade of La Rambla and is the largest gastronomic market in Barcelona, offering a wide variety of fresh products.
Chefs from all over Barcelona frequent this market in search of the freshest ingredients for their restaurants.
But in this article we want to make special mention of
3 restaurants that are located in the same market and that we can consider them as the best restaurants of the Boqueria market.CLICK TO TWEET
Bon appetite:
1. Quim de la Boqueria. Enjoy the market cuisine
Quim de la boqueria Barcelona
Within the same Mercat de la Boqueria and for less than € 20, you have a wide range of tapas and starters, squid, fresh fish cooked on the grill, sandwiches and desserts. All made with high quality products and market.
Recently renovated, it has improved its space where the bar now hosts more stools but continues with its impetus and energy to offer one of the best gastronomic offerings in the city.
This place is a classic of the emblematic Barcelona market and has existed since 1987.
We recommend his signature dish: eggs with squid or Rovellons with foie gras. But one thing you must have clear, you will not find anyone who makes the eggs as in the Quim de la Boqueria. Simply spectacular.
Schedule and address:
Mondays from 12h-16h. From Tuesday to Thursday from 7-16 h. Friday and Saturday until 5pm.
Closed: Sunday.
Address: la Rambla, 91 (Barcelona). Boquería Market, Local 606.
How to get there: Metro Liceu (L3)
2. The Pinotxo Bar. 60 years of history and tradition behind the bar
El pinotxo bar Barcelona
Its founder, Joan Bayén is the soul of Pinotxo. And not only of your business, but also one of the pioneers of what we know today, eating at a bar.
Their highlights dishes that you should try, the chickpeas with black pudding, the potato stew or the squid with beans, are simply incredible.
Market cuisine, quality, in an authentic atmosphere. If you walk along the Ramblas and squeeze your appetite, El Pinotxo is a must-do place even if you have to do a bit of queuing. It is always full! There must be a reason.
Schedule and address:
From Monday to Saturday from 6: 30h to 16h
Address: la Rambla, 91 (Barcelona). Mercado de la Boqueria. Local 466-470
How to get there: Metro Liceu (L3)
3. Universal Kiosk. In the market since 1973.
kiosk universal Barcelona
The Universal Kiosk is another reference to take into account in the Mercado de la Boqueria. Their specialties are fish and seafood, as well as vegetables and mushrooms. And all at a very good price.
We recommend the garlic prawns and the Galician octopus.
Schedule and address:
From Monday to Saturday from 9am to 8pm
Address: la Rambla, 91 (Barcelona). Mercado de la Boqueria. Local 691
How to get there: Metro Liceu (L3)
